Charlene let me hear a recording of the song that LJB (Eternal Loop, whatever they wanna call themselves) performed at the School of Rock competition. I have to say, it is BLOODY good! "Why" its entitled, good vocal by their lead, Sarah i think, and there's a great harmony as well. Impressive, really really impressive. And i read in "Life!" yesterday that they had 22% of the votes last sunday and i guess they should deserve it, having never heard the others of course. Finally! A decent band out of AJ! Come on guys, down to J8 this sunday to hear them out and lend a supporting voice. 2pm at the outside atrium where loads of nonsense singers like Wilbur Pan or whatever have sung before.

As you might know, i'm not a huge punk rock fan but i guess Eternal Loop ain't really. Come on Eternal Loop!

Years after our bodies rot in our graves, the eternal debate will ensue. How Roman Catholicism is not Biblically correct, and thus wrong. Ooh gosh, seems these days i have little energy to discuss any more. Well it does remind me of the time where someone posted some nasty stuff on Olivia Quay's blog so i went to re-read that particular "discourse" (understatement). Anyhow, here's an excerpt.

Catholic faith is based on two engines, scripture and tradition. Salvation history did not stop at Calvary, it continues in our lives. You may claim that tradition is man-made. Well, scripture is man-written. Divinely inspired yes, but so is tradition. The miracle of Florence, (where bread and wine turned into actual flesh and blood during Mass) is proof of this. God reveals His grace through the sacraments. I believe you in some way are baptized, isn't that too some form of tradition? Our history is made up of nearly 2000 years, our tradition holds great importance for us. Your point that many of our practices did not exist in the early Church. The truth is that they did, such as the breaking of bread and the appointing of bishops. In contrast, the bible did not exist til the Council of Nicaea of 4th century A.D. For 4000 years, Chritianity survived on traditon. Scripture too is important to us. The first half of the Mass is dedicated to the reading of God's word- the Liturgy of the Word. God speaks to us still in the Spirit of the scriptures. The second half is the consecration of the bread and wine. The Liturgy of the Eucharist is our spritual and physical Communion with the living God. In this way, we see the delicate intertwining of Scripture and Tradition in the continuation of the sacrifice of Christ. Our salvation is an ongoing process. We have all the gift of eternal life. Sin strips us of this priviledge. If that were not the case, hell would not be a reality, and that is not true. The point is, our practices might have deviated due to developments in the course of history. Yet, we belong to the one Truth. As I have said, look not on the differences but identify the similarities and work towards Christian unity.

Disclaimer: my views on religion are my own. They do not have to follow the Canon Law or the ultra-thick Cathechism of the Catholic Church. God appears in His many forms to many different people. Just because i am not Hindu does not make Hinduism a false religion. On the contrary, God has chosen for Hindus to take that road to Him. This is not a contradiction of His immense Truth. All things that are good must come from God, since God is the source of good. Daresay Gandhi is suffering eternal damnation? Or Buddha? Come off it. They were closer to God than at any one time we were.

Explain God to someone who doesn't believe? You can't. Faith comes from a personal experience with Him, not by the words of any mortal man. Who are we, in our minute capacity, to understand the vastness of God? Who are we, with our obsession with the false, to judge Truth? Judge not another person, every religion, decent one anyway, speaks truth, and the One God is the architect of Truth. No salvation outside the Church? I'm sorry, there's a reason why it was taken out at Vatican 2. Unbelief is no sin. If it were, we'll all be in hell.
