Mabuhay everyone! Thanks for all the birthday wishes and everything else over the past few weeks and in case i do not blog in time:

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO THE PRESIDENT OF THE EDWARD BECHERAS CHOIR!!

Speaking of which, the CHMA cd which dear hecty burnt  (or is it burned? Hmmm..) for me has been playing in my ears for the past few days, especially the almost unreal voice of Gen Rong and that wonderful David Tao song performed by Zhi Yi. Not to mention, of course, Wong Shizhen's "Starry Starry Night". Its actually quite impressive and all 3 of the above names now have mini-fan clubs in AJ.

Times have not been the best lately but i'll survive. Especially if i get a chance to hit that Ab on a Saturday evening instead of 9 o'clock on Sunday morning. But you know how it goes, hakuna matata everyone!

Finally conquered my computer. Ah well, pretty gloomy weather outside, trying not to feel gloomy inside too, this sort of weather is absolutely detrimental to mood, i tell you.

Okay, firstly, good luck to the VJ Choir at the olympics. Like i was telling your president and student conductor, in jest of course, "hope you win a gold so you'll get complacent so we'll be able to beat you next year." By the way, i cannot stand the term SC. Tell others your SC and they'll say, "students council?" Nothing against councillors but there you are. The term also brings unwelcome images of a safety car which is absolutely loathed by the leader of a Formula One race.

I think i'm losing my voice and that's terrible. Got to conduct and sing this Saturday for our J2 farewell and only heaven knows how well that would go. Especially since our committee's putting up an item of which the tenors take the melody and since there are only three of us we've got to bee super class. Which is kinda hard since we're singing the Longest Time, albeit not the Novo one. Which is kinda lucky since its not that high. Which is not very good either because it is still an A flat nonetheless. Or G sharp, whichever sounds lower. (Yeah, like that helps, God help Luke, Jasper and me.)

Now i know why conductors are so grouchy, it can be horribly frustrating if things don't go the way you expect them to. The hard part is keeping your cool. But well, never scold your choir if things don't come out right. Gotta let your positive enthusiasm rub off on them.

Seems my views on heaven and hell aren't the most popular in the world but i guess i knew that for the longest time. Still cannot get why others believe heaven is exclusive to Christians. After all, our Jewish and Muslim friends DO believe in the same God. Oh well, guess many people will never agree with me although strangely, all those who do are non-Christian.

Hope i get the chance to blog more in the future, but in the meantime, stay happy, life's too short for you to frown all the time, hakuna matata!

Circle Of Life
From the minute we arrive on the planet
And blinking, step into the sun
There's more to be seen than can ever be seen
More to do than can ever be done

Some say eat or be eaten
Some say live and let live
But all are agreed as they join the stampede
You should never take more than you give

In the circle of life
It's the wheel of fortune
It's the leap of faith
It's the band of hope
Till we find our place
On the path unwinding
In the circle, the circle of life

Some of us fall by the wayside
And some of us soar to the stars
And some of us sail through our troubles
And some have to live with the scars

There's far too much to take in here
More to find than can ever be found
But the sun rolling high through the sapphire sky
Keeps great and small on the endless round
