To be Your bread now,
Be Your wine now,
Lord come and change us,
To be a sign of Your love.

Blessed and broken
Poured and flowing
Gift that you gave us
To be Your body once again.

Happy Lent.

Big congratulations to Edward house and its marvellous victory in the X-country championships. Hey hey, against all odds, we've won it for the 5th straight year, the only house ever to have its name on the shield in the competition's existence. Kudos to Camillus and the rest and bring back the house cup too! Only wish i could have been a better captain but i did try, even if maybe it wasn't good enough, i did. I love Blue!

Why do people talk so much
About this strange, pink day?
Which comes before the month of March,
Through February, it is mid-way.

That foolish men would lose their cash
And forgetters face backlash;
Where the sins of the partner are so fast fading,
And so many relationships are in their making?

A day filled with chocs and hearts,
and so much letter-writing.
A day for buying over-priced cards,
And waiting for shooting star sightings.

Some say the day's so much,
For others its so touching;
For those who do not love, as such,
The day is really nothing.

Oh well oh well, what can i say,
Whilst all those lovers cry, "come what may!"
But all those fools who bring this day farther
And make it unwisely different from any other.

Presents are for the silly,
Red coloured things for all the hopeless only.
For if you truly love someone,
They'd no need no heart-shaped bun.

Valentine's day is for no cheap love
Rather for that kind that comes from above.
Yet if you love, do love well,
And let the love of God, on earth, swell.

God will make a way,
Where there seems to be no way.
He works in ways,
We cannot see,
He will make a way for me.
He will be my guide,
Hold me closely to His side.
With love and strength,
For each new day,
He will make a way,
He will make a way.

By a roadway in the wilderness He leads me.
Rivers in the desert will I see.
Heaven and earth will fade,
But His Words will remain.
He will do, something new today.

He leadeth me, O blessed thought!
O words with heavenly comfort fraught!
Whatever I do, wherever I be,
Still by His hand He leadeth me.

He leadeth me, He leadeth me!
By His own hand He leadeth me!
His fauthful follower I would be,
For by His hand He leadeth me.

He will make a way.

Just one of the 16 beautiful tracks on the SFX Youth Choir's audio cd. My personal favourite, especially with the solo in the middle by Tiffany, one of the most beautiful voices i have ever heard.

Body Worlds, that marvellously frightening and eye-opening exhibition, has been extended YET again. So, if you haven't gone, you really should do so, it is ruddy brilliant. Should have brought mikey while he was here come to think of it. Oh well, no use crying over spilt coke, the section about embryos and foetuses really brings a whole new meaning to 'abortion is murder'.

By the way, it seems that the number of people are, to use a rather over-exaggerated term, falling in love now that they've finally come into contact with the fairer people. Not elves, you nuts, girls. Oh, did i use fairer? Apologies to everyone who's seen their darker side.

The latest hit song that everyone is trying to sing is that Josh Groban one. Considering that most of you only know ONE JG song... Incidentally, i heard joel yap got into the nj talentime finals with that song. Oh well... Here's another Josh Groban song for you, its nicer to me than 'You Raise Me Up' anyway.

To Where You Are

Who can say for certain
Maybe you're still here
I feel you all around me
Your memories so clear

Deep in the stillness
I can hear you speak
You're still an inspiration
Can it be(?)
That you are mine
Forever love
And you are watching over me from up above

Fly me up to where you are
Beyond the distant star
I wish upon tonight
To see you smile
If only for awhile to know you're there
A breath away's not far
To where you are

Are you gently sleeping
Here inside my dream
And isn't faith believing
All power can't be seen

As my heart holds you
Just one beat away
I cherish all you gave me everyday
'Cause you are mine
Forever love
Watching me from up above

And I believe
That angels breathe
And that love will live on and never leave

Fly me up
To where you are
Beyond the distant star
I wish upon tonight
To see you smile
If only for awhile
To know you're there
A breath away's not far
To where you are

I know you're there
A breath away's not far
To where you are

This is good. I quote mikey, ' i insist again i was nv suicidal!' Two words mate, 'yeah right.' But well, i meant really that he'a a lot more human nowadays instead of that strange lyrical poet 2 years ago. I'm expecting him to say something about this soon so let me say in advance its not a bad thing. Yeah.

MARK m English, Russian, Biblical
Pronounced: MARK
Fearless warrior. Saint Mark was the author of the second Gospel in the New Testament. He is the patron saint of Venice, where he is supposedly buried.

NICODEMUS m Biblical, English
Pronounced: ni-ko-DEE-mus
From the Greek name Nikodemos which meant "victory of the people" from Greek nike "victory" and demos "the people". This was name of a character in the New Testament who helped Joseph of Arimathea entomb Jesus.

Put them together and you get "from the fearless warrior will come the victory of the people." Cool...

And so I face the final curtain
My friend, I'll say it clear
I'll state my case of which I'm certain
I've lived a life that's full
I've travelled each and every highway
And more, much more than this
I did it my way

Regrets I've had a few
But then again too few to mention
I did what I had to do
And saw it through without exemption
I planned each chartered course
Each careful step along the by-way
And more, much more than this
I did it my way

Yes, there were times
I'm sure you knew
When I bit off more than I could chew
But through it all when there was doubt
I ate it up and spit it out
I faced it all
And I stood tall
And did it my way

I've loved, I've laughed, and cried
I've had my fill, my share of losing
And now, as tears subside
I find it all so amusing
To think I did all that
And may I say, not in a shy way
"Oh no, oh no, not me
I did it my way"

For what is a man, what has he got?
If not himself then he has naughtt
To say the things he truly feels
And not the words of one who kneels
The record shows I took the blows
And did it my way

Yes, it was my way

A sparrow flies against the wind, causing its little body to be constantly blown off course. How human nature is often paralled to this sparrow, going against God when going with it seems so much to be the easier option. Indeed, the flying against often leads us nowhere, and is more likely to cause us death upon hitting a rock than for us to find life. The sparrow, that is to say us, must learn to fly with the wind, and let the breath of the spirit take us to places we never thought we could ever go, distances once though unreachable.

It seems to me that the current phase is that ridiculous query if God can make a rock to huge and heavy for him to carry. So, which came first the chicken or the egg? Although due to evolution the egg must have come first, there is no possibility, of us in our finite human minds, answering that question.

Jesus, God made man, bore a weight far greater than anything one can imagine. This weight then crushed Him 3 times. Yet each time He picked Himself up and soldiered on. Thus and therefore, God already carried a rock that He almost couldn't carry. But He did, and carried the sin of the world.

Haha, sorry if the above bored you but i just got all these accumulating thoughts since i returned from my mini-retreat. Would you believe its been one week since my last post and no, i'm not dead. And boy, what a week! At least i finally got the vision of weeds out of my head. I'm telling you, and i swear on a stack of Bibles, there were green shoots sprouting everywhere from the train to the toilet. Doing a certain Kylie Minogue number then.

Very amused to read mikey's bio, glad to see he's keeping his humour, especially in writing, in comparison with the dark ages of months gone by when he was all dark and suicidal. Looking forward to his return so we can reform the Merry and Pippin partnership again. Until then,

"Home is behind, the world ahead.
There are many paths to tread.
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Mist and shadow, cloud and shade,
Hope shall fail, all shall fade."
