"Christianity started out in Palestine as a fellowship; it moved to Greece and became a philosophy; it moved to Italy and became an institution; it moved to Europe and became a culture; it came to America and became an enterprise."
Sam Pascoe, American scholar.

When I find myself in times of trouble,
Mother Mary comes to me
Speaking words of wisdom, let it be
And in my hour of darkness,
She is standing right in front of me
Speaking words of wisdom, Let it be
Let it be, let it be, let it be, let it be
Whisper words of wisdom, let it be
And when the broken hearted people,
Living in the world agree
There will be an answer, let it be
But though they may be parted,
There is still a chance that they may see
There will be an answer, let it be
And when the night is cloudy,
There is still a light that shines on me
Shine on till tomorrow, let it be
I wake up to the sound of music,
Mother Mary comes to me
Speaking words of wisdom, let it be

LOVE?
What is LOVE?
That makes us crazy
With thoughts of idolatry, shameless fantasy?
What is LOVE?
That makes us nuts
And makes us tremble and have no guts?
Perhaps God on us has placed a hex,
So all will fall for the fairer sex.
And quote lines from long LOVE poems,
Some more dreadful than a dead rat's rectum.
Oh! How I hate it when some friends go,
"Help! I like this girl, I adore her so!"
What do they want, for me to drool?
Drool I not, for all who LOVE are fools.
Just some lines from those very LOVE sonnets,
Ring in my mind like a bee in my bonnet.
"Open my eyes, for I am blinded by you."
Ooh! My hair is standing, don’t you feel it too.
"I knew my LOVE was true, the moment I laid eyes on you."
Heavens above! Don’t they make you sick and blue?
Well, call me skeptic, call me cynical,
What these people need are 800-degree spectacles.
Hold a second, I know what you think,
I read your thoughts faster than you blink.
You imagine I'm LOVE-hater; you feel I'm gay.
Wrong! Though gay only when I write down what I have to say.
LOVE is untrue, LOVE is false,
LOVE as unlikely as Bach composing a waltz.
Yet you would very likely detect,
Most folks consider me incorrect.
For when they meet one they find so fair,
They most often forget that you are there.
They ignore your well-intentioned advice,
Your voice, they suddenly find not so nice.
Strangely though, they are lost for words,
When wanting to talk about the bees and birds.
To me they say, "I LOVE her, why?"
To the girl they say, "Er...er...bye!"
So it makes me wonder when it starts,
The exact moment when they lost their hearts.
Was it when they first saw,
Or sometime later, sometime more?
Whatever when, the result is always the same,
Like full-moon dogs they go insane.
Of those feelings, what is there to gain?
Isn't it nothing more than an irritating bane?
Once again, who am I to judge,
When it comes to matters of their stolen hearts.
But don't you sometimes find LOVE a hazard,
Much like a sauna in a barren desert.
Lost appetites, lack of sleep,
Well, you sow, that's what you reap.
And suddenly, we're all hopeless romantics.
OK, not really, just incurable lunatics.
In our minds float Marianne, Audrey, Sara, Michelle
Lo, behold, your life has become a living hell.
Wait a minute! I know you're cursing,
"What do you know, you’ve never felt anything!"
Well, you know what, thank God I haven't,
For I'm still residing in my seventh heaven.
Cause from my friends I know,
Being in LOVE is worse than eating dirty snow.
But that's life, isn't it, that we all have a soft spot,
Which needs a feminine presence to turn it hot.
Our raging hormones like orange flames,
With lustful desires we cannot tame.
Oh! Lamentable day when LOVE turns mental,
(For it's more fearful than a trip to the dentals)
When it makes us send text messages at 3 in the morning.
Romantic? When the other is soundly snoring?
Even sadder is when your LOVE ignores,
And your heart drops like a golfer shouting, "FORE!"
Inside you feel you need the gents,
Outside you say, "It's alright, let's just be friends."
So why LOVE when it's obviously not worthwhile,
Certainly less useful than a ceramic tile.
But if you must, remember this,
Never sell your soul for just one kiss.
Instead, give it to her who can make it last,
Even when your teeth begin to rust.
For you only know that you have succeeded,
When you begin to feel really needed.
But that's unlikely, it'll hardly happen,
Just pray that when you're rejected you don't feel too saddened.
My point is, LOVE is fake; it's all pretence,
Oops! I'd better stop; I see your anger is intense.
My only wish is that, when one day you by LOVE are bitten,
You will remember the nonsense that I've just written.
Perhaps it will brighten up your day,
When all things seen so gloomy and gray.
What is LOVE;
That makes us gamble,
To show our last hand, for the plain impossible.
What is LOVE;
That makes us have,
Regrets aplenty, with so much left.

What a day! Had to wake up at 5 in the morning and climb over a slumbering Daniel Thong who came to stay over on SYF eve. Then had to rush to make it to the hall by 6.15... Well, in the end it was worth it as we finally got what the choir had been working for for an incredible 7 months! Longest ever training on the same 3 songs! Anyway it all paid off at 3 when it was announced that we had achieved, for the 3rd SYF running, the GOLD Award!!! One of three on the day and 19 overall, we were euphoric and started waving our ties about... On a darker note, Anglican High got silver and they were positively in tears... Well, you have good times and you have bad times and i guess the tides ARE turning...
The only thing as bad as some of the bronze choirs was a bronze standard berformance by the st nick's eldds.. Shan't comment more. brings back dreadful memories...

Well... I'm a Blogger at last... Don't know why, but Michael insisted i have one. He's making a very big mistake if you ask me now that i can reveal all his secrets to everyone who chances by. HAHAHA! Anyway, he told me i would be a very good read... I wonder why? I think i should be able to toe the line on taboo topics and not be as insensitive as a certain person with a surname which spells "lame" without the 'e'.
Here we go...
